Makeover Monday, a Lamp Update

You’re in for a special treat today. You’ll not only see this lamp makeover but you’ll get a sneak peak of my new studio space.

Remember this old lamp? We’ll I think it needed a bit of an update. The green was cool but some of the color was peeling. I bought it for $4 and thought it would be nice for my new garage studio space. I even found a free lampshade with the same large scale at a garage sale. With a few new coats of paint, this is what it looks like (goodness please forgive my crooked shade in this picture. It does actually sit straight).  I may redo the lampshade with some fabric but I like that I only spent $4 and used paint found in the garage. Not too shabby!

wow, good job! Did you spray paint it or…? I would never think about buying the original lamp but I love the re-done version.

Good question Leyla. I used spray paint so it would stick really well and get in all the groves of the filigree on the metal areas. I LOVE spray paint. It’s such an affordable way to update almost anything.
